We provide capacity where, and when, it’s needed. We have experience supporting multi-year projects from beginning to end, as well as coming into projects at key stages to support specific needs. We bring decolonizing and community-engaged methods to the work of project management, and often seek out creative ways to increase collaboration and creativity. We offer expertise in project scoping, proposal writing, project oversight and implementation, final reporting and dissemination, and evaluation and assessment.
We approach reconciliation as a process and a relationship. We seek to establish trust, level the playing field, respect difference.

We specialize in community-engaged methods that focus on establishing trust, working collaboratively, being clear about roles and responsibilities, and learning with a diversity of peoples. We are also adept at using tools from the decision sciences to help structure processes in transparent and rigorous ways. These methods help focus dialogue and narrow-in on tough questions. Our focus is often on understanding the social and cultural dimensions across multiple contexts, ensuring these values are meaningfully understood and represented in processes. It is our belief that relationships are at the heart of most questions and decisions. Our engagement approach acknowledges this fundamental component. We place a high value on listening, and on hearing what our clients are saying. This may sound simple. It is not. It requires a tuned ear, an open heart, and thick skin. We bring our authentic and compassionate approach to working with all of our clients, whether we’re already familiar with the context or it’s brand new to us. We bring these skills to our engagement approach, and pair them with established methods in working with people and complex issues.

In collaboration with key partners, we hold expertise in the development of innovative methods to support claims for compensation to Indigenous Nations. These methods include the identification and valuation of loss beyond the purely economic losses that have historically been considered compensable in assessment and negotiation processes. With our colleagues, we are at the forefront of broadening the methods used in compensation negotiations, with direct and lasting impacts to how reconciliation is exercised in Canada.
